Grandma Darla Visits Again!!

I always LOVE when grandma Darla gets to come visit because it means our week is FILLED with all sorts of fun things to do with cousins (and obviously because I don't get to see her very often.) On her last trip we were lucky enough to even have Grandpa David for a couple of days too!

She was here over memorial day so we went to Hannemann's house for a party. But before that we went to the park with Grandma Connie since it was her birthday so dad could play tennis with her. We just hung out on the grass and had a good time while we watched them

Then we went swimming at Hannemann's. You loved the pool. I swear you could have stayed in there all day. And all night for that matter.

Seriously you're the cutest.

We also got to take all your cousins on my side to go see the baby pony at grandma and grandpa Goeckeritz' house while Grandma Darla was here

We had a blast the whole time she was here and can't wait until next time!

California || Vacation of firsts

A few weeks ago we finally got to take our first trip via jetBlue, making it our first free flight, mine and dad's first flight and together, and your very first flight EVER

This was on the airplane getting ready to take off! You only slept for maybe ten minutes of the flight and then just wanted to play, which was not ideal at all. But at least you weren't crying, that's something to be grateful for, right?

The day after we got there we went to Oakland to watch uncle Adam play baseball. It was your first MLB game and the A's won! Adam had an awesome game, we picked a good day to go.

You were so cute during the game, the crazies behind us were in love.

We spent most of the next day swimming, your first time in the pool! You were a bit weary at first but ended up really loving the hot tub. We lost most of our pictures, which I'm still really upset about, but we did manage to salvage one of your first swim!

San Francisco is always a must when we go to Toby and Tami's but this trip was the first time we made it out to Alcatraz. We got really lucky with the weather, it was 80 degrees and sunny all day, unheard of for San Fran.

You and Dad in front of one of the jail cells

View of the city from the island

This trip was one for a lot of firsts, so of course we had to take you for your first trip to the beach. We went to Half Moon Bay for the weekend and it was beyond freezing, but still fun. The hotel we stayed in was so perfect. Seriously the cutest place ever, I wish I would have taken pictures. What was I thinking? The beach was way to windy to do much, but we did go and even flew a kite!

Dad also bought you your first baseball hat on the trip, and I have to say it suites you well

Cutest face ever

Sick Baby

For a few weeks our house took a really dramatic turn when you started throwing up CONSTANTLY and EVERYWHERE. It was really the saddest thing I've ever seen, and quite miserable for all three of us. You obviously didn't feel up to par and Dad and I had to listen to you cry all day and all night. Worst ever.

See what I mean by everywhere? Gross I know, but I still can't figure out how you did that.

This was you after you rolled on top of one of your toys. Really dramatic.
I swear we took you to the doctor a million times to see what we could do for you. But they kept sending us away telling us it was just a bug and you would get over it soon. So annoying. But that was the one place you actually loved being, so I was fine taking you over and over again.

I'm sure the doctors hated me for letting you tear the place apart every time we went, but I say it's their fault for thinking you were healthy when you were always throwing up. Turns out you had major acid reflux and once we got you on medication you became your normal, happy self again and we've been in heaven ever since. Please don't ever get sick again, I can't handle it.
Love you Hudson

Easter Sunday

This Sunday was your very first Easter with us. While you're still too little to actually enjoy all the candy, egg hunts, and new Sunday outfits, it was really a special day to me. Being my first Easter as a parent I really thought a lot about the resurrection of Christ and what that means for us. I found this quote from President Monson that I absolutely love

"No words in Christendom mean more to me than those spoken by the angel to the weeping Mary Magdalene and the other Mary when, on the first day of the week, they approached the tomb to care for the body of their Lord. Spoke the angel: 'Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen.' "

I hope you always remember that Dad and I both have testimonies that Christ was resurrected so we can be too, and that he lives. We both love you so much and are trying our best to be the best parents and examples to you that we can be. We are so lucky that we got to have you with us for Easter this year, it was our best one yet.

One Half Of One Year

I may be a few weeks late, but it's still so hard for me to believe that it's already been 6 months since you were born and made dad and I the happiest two people on the planet.
The other night after we put you to bed we got a bit nostalgic talking about all the things we love about you and wishing you would really stop growing up
We love how you are so entranced by your hands. You hold them in front of your face and just stare for forever. We love watching you try to figure out how they, and everything else, works
We love how you hold your arms out every time you see us because you want us to pick you up.
We love how you immediately roll over to your side when we put you in your crib because that's the only position you'll sleep in, and when we go get you in the morning you're on the opposite side of your crib in the corner.
We love that when you wake up in the middle of the night we can hear you talk to yourself until you fall back asleep.
We love how every time you pick up your lion you smash it into your face and squeel because you're so happy
You seriously make every single day so much better and we couldn't love you more!

Dinosaur Museum

Just over a month ago we decided we needed a family date before I started training for work, since we wouldn't have much time with eachother for a while, so we went to the dinosaur museum! You are still too tiny to really think it's cool, but I think you still had fun.

We played in the caves and you and dad weighed yourselves to see what dinosaurs you were the closest to in size, and you played in the wet sandbox
